John Malone:No Speak English

This Chapter is about a New Woman who comes to america from Spain. She "Blossoms" as she is pushed and pulled out of the taxi cab. In other words, she is Obese. she is so large that she cannot get up the stairs to her room. so large that they wonder how she can wear those small, high Stilletos. as the vignette goes on, we see she misses her family. she wishes she could be with her papa. because she "no speak english" she can barely communicate with people because of her lack of english. Esperanza feels for her.

What do you think of this woman?
figurative language: "all at once she bloomed"

i think she would be happy if she stayed in spain. if she dosent like moving in the first place you would think she would voice her consern about going to the U.S.

I feel like this lady needs to loose some weight if she wants to be talked to and to do well. She wouldn't have to go through all the humiliation of getting out of the cab and feeling bad. I feel a little sorry for her but not badly.

Wow sasha, that was a bit hard, loose some weight? I think she is unhappy. If she doesnt want her child to lkearn "the language that sounds like tin" then she shouldnt of come to america where we speak it

Its like the lady is a new kid a school, she doesn't know who to talk to. I do feel sypathetic, but she should've known coming into America that not everyone would speak her lanauge, and communication would be difficult.
