Papa who wakes up tired in the dark
The entire chapter is Esperanza explaining how her father has to wake up early to catch a plane to mexico to meet his brothers and sisters (esperanzas aunts and uncles) to sort out the funeral of her grandfather. She is saying that she holds him, and does not want to let go. She wouldnt know what to do without him.

The famialy saved up the money because to them, famialy is more importent then houses. papa wants to see his father one last time.
because aranging a funeral is a lot more important and they saved thier money for it.

Well Esperanza's father's father just died. He would do anything to get a plane ticket or spend any money to be with his family. They could have been saving their money then just used that to buy the lpane ticket for him.

Esperanza's dad just died so he would do anything to see his family in Mexico. They may have also thought family is more important than a house so there gonna save up to go to Mexico instead of getting a new house.
